Teacher allegedly runs off with student

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - The FBI is investigating an incident in Holyoke where a 24 year-old female teacher at the Maurice Donahue Elementary School has allegedly run off with her 15 year-old male student.

Holyoke Mayor Michael Sullivan told 22News the student's mother contacted the school on Feb. 13, saying she was suspicious her son was having an affair with a teacher. Police went to question the teacher later that afternoon, but she had already left for the day.

Ludlow Police Sergeant, Frank Nowak told 22News that the teacher’s father came to report his daughter missing. Nowak told 22News that the teacher is Lisa Lavoie.

The student's parents also filed a missing person report.

The FBI is now involved in the investigation because the duo has allegedly crossed state lines.
