HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - Tired or not., they've been walking all night to find a cure for cancer.
This was the scene at Holyoke Community College just after 3 this morning.
Nearly one thousand people from 58 teams have taken pledges and committed to walking the track until three o'clock this afternoon.
Middle school students, corporations and community teams have committed to walk for 18 hours for the American Cancer Society's 10th annual relay for life at Holyoke Community College.
Our 22news cameras were there in the wee hours to find out how things were going.
“Just went to bed around 2:15...2:30...bright eyed and bushy tailed,” said Shannon Saia, “Ann’s Angels”. “I think it’s awesome everyone if out here.”
“Small group of us volunteered to do the overnight shift we're getting through it getting the job done,” said Steve Mastranardi.
The walk kicked off with the Survivors’ lap.
This year's Relay for Life hopes to raise 110-thousand dollars.
