Hundreds of people came together in Boston on Saturday evening to help raise money for Latino youth programs in Massachusetts.

El Jolgorio Navideno Incorporated hosted their annual gala at the Boston Convention Center. It is the biggest event of its kind in New England.

The non-profit group raised funds to support programs that promote the preservation of Hispanic heritage and educational opportunities for Latino youth.

Some members of the western Massachusetts Latino community attended the event, including the Executive Director of the Puerto Rican Cultural Center in Springfield.

"It's important because I think there's a tremendous need in infusing dollars into programs that not only help kids in school,l but help kids realize their potential," said Juan Gerena of the PRCC.

22News Anchor Veronica Cintron co-hosted the event with a familiar face in Spanish television, Univision show host Rafael Jose.
