(WWLP) - The Bay State is set to receive more than 28-million dollars in federal funding to help care for kids.
The money's part of the Obama Administration's Recovery Act. 23-point-9 million dollars will be used to support child care for working families and 4-point-2 million will go towards vaccines and disease prevention programs.
The Holyoke, Chicopee, Springfield Head Start program is hoping to get some of that money. Nicole Blais told 22News that, "We're hoping it will allow us to serve more children, create more jobs, give our staff a long awaited cost of living increase."
There is a meeting in Greenfield tomorrow so child care providers can learn how the federal funds will be distributed.
