More than 800 students danced in a marathon this weekend to raise funds for a local hospital. The third annual dance marathon took place Saturday at UMass to raise funds for a local hospital. The marathon started at 10am Saturday morning and finished at 1am Sunday morning.
The event benefits the Baystate Children's Hospital in Springfield and the Children's Miracle Network. The students raised thirty three thousand dollars for new equipment helping premature infants fight for their lives.
The student dance is a combined effort of the fraternities and sororities on campus.
