SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - There are three ways to wash your car.
First, you can go through an automatic drive thru. They're the most expensive option. A basic wash will cost you anywhere from seven to eleven dollars depending on where you go.
If you're looking for the works, prepare to pay around seventeen
dollars. India Kenney from Springfield says it's worth spending a
little extra for the convenience of the car wash. "It's just a lot
faster. It's time consuming to wash it, spray it off, and
everything. The machine does it for me and I'm done" said Kenney.
For a few bucks less, you can wash it yourself at the car wash.
To wash your car in a self service open bay will cost you about
three dollars for five minutes. It may take you longer than five
minutes. If it does, expect to pay six dollars for ten minutes.
The cheapest option requires a lot of time, energy, and dedication. You can buy the products to wash your car. You'll need washing solution, a sponge, a bucket, and a hose. The water will cost you about twenty-nine cents for the average 116 gallons it takes to wash your car in the driveway.
Overall, Jake Robertson of Rocky's Hardware in East Longmeadow, said the start up total will come out to about thirty dollars. This is a lot at first, but the products are reusable. If you purchase a concentrated washing solution, you should get about fifty washes out of it.
Over time, this option will cost you about sixty cents per wash.
