Ways to save with body wash or soap

Keeping yourself squeaky clean can clean out your wallet. 22News is working for you with ways to save on soap and body wash.

In the battle between soap and body wash, soap wins out on cost. For one average priced bottle of brand name body wash, you'll pay around $4.77. For $4.49, you could get ten bars of brand name soap.

If this were a popularity contest, however, 22News discovered that the majority of people we surveyed prefer body wash. Christina Gaudreault of West Springfield says "I'll pay for it. I'd rather pay for body wash than soap."

Despite it's popularity, body wash has a hidden price. Many use a loofah or a sponge with body wash. They cost anywhere from a little under a dollar to well over three dollars. Loofahs can be breeding grounds for bacteria. Experts say you should change them every one to two months.
