EASTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) - The Easthampton boys soccer won just 2 games a year ago. This year they've already eclipsed that mark. The Eagles Brandon Laliberte is helping the Eagles soar and he is the 22News athlete of the week.

"Our main idea is to pressure all the time. From the start of the game, run out and pressure as long as we can, try to wear them out. If we get a couple goals early then we can put them down", says Lalberte.

It has been working so far. It took all of 3 games for Easthampton to surpass their 2008 win total. Now Laliberte says this momentum will continue.

"We just need to keep the morale up, keep playing hard. Our coaches have been switching up the positions and formations, its working out really well for us", says Laliberte.

Laliberte is a strong-footed forward. He can score from just about anywher in reason, but is learning when and when not to take his shot.

"I'm trying not to be too selfish, but if there is an opening I'll take advantage of it and try to score", says Laliberte.

Easthampton is setting its eagle eye on a return to the playoffs. Success isn't that far off. The Eagles won a Western mass title in 2007.

"We have a lot of success 2 years ago and we started off this year with a couple wins. I feel this is a repeat of 2 years ago and should help us out a lot", says Laliberte.
