WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The sport is called wheelchair soccer, but it's more like team handball. Jennifer Lee has been playing the sport for close to a decade. She has brittle bone disease.

"The hardest part of having a disability is finding my own way, I couldn't be on regular high school sports team so I found soccer.  I was my way to be a kid too", says the senior at the Renaissance School.

Teammate Natalie Stebbins has always been impressed with how Jennifer handles herself on the court.

"She knows the sport, she's aggressive for her size and she plays against men and women who are 10, 20 years older than she is and most importantly, she is very sportsmanlike", says Stebbins.

Jennifer is competitive on the court, but she also respects her teammates.

"I look up to a lot of them and I use their skills and combine them with my own to become a good player", says Lee.

Jennifer has thrived in wheelchair soccer, an opportunity that just isn't available in high schools.

"I really enjoy being around more disabled poople because I'm not most of the time, and I get away from reality and am with people just like me", says Lee.
