FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WWLP) - It is NFL Championship Sunday and the Patriots and Ravens will play for the opportunity to play in the Super Bowl.
If the Patriots win tonight, they will advance to the Superbowl to take on either the San Francisco 49ers or the Atlanta Falcons.
Assuming the Pats win, this will be the 6th Superbowl with quarterback Tom Brady leading the pack.
There are a couple AFC Championship connections to western Massachusetts.
Current Ravens safety, James Ihedigbo, went to Amherst High School and played for UMass Amherst.
It's his 4th straight AFC Championship game.
Last year, he wore the Patriots colors, and the 2 years before that, he represented the NY Jets.
Clarence Brooks is an assistant coach in charge of the defensive line for the Ravens. He graduated from UMass Amherst as well.
Ashley Baylor will be in Foxborough most of the day, so if you plan to be at the game, let us know where you will be, and send your fan photos to reportit@wwlp.com.
