EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) - East Longmeadow's Nick Ahmed was involved in a blockbuster baseball trade on Thursday.
The Atlanta Braves trades Ahmed and a package other players to Arizona for Justin Upton and Chris Johnson.
Ahmed graduated from East Longmeadow High School, played his college ball at the University of Connecticut and was the Braves 2nd round draft pick in 2011.
In total, it's a seven-player deal. Arizona trades outfielder Justin Upton and 3rd baseman Chris Johnson. Atlanta trades Ahmed, Randall Delgago, Zeke Spruill, Brandon Drury and Martin Prado.
