CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - After what felt like forever for Bruins fans, the puck finally dropped Saturday night in Boston.
The Bruins hit the ice at home against the New York Rangers, at TD Garden, for game 1 of their 48-game season.
Hockey fans who suffered as the lockout drove on were out in full force Saturday to celebrate the start of the delayed season.
One Bruins fan told 22news it just didn't feel right to be missing out on the sport during the lockout. According to Kenn Richard of East Longmeadow, “We got football that's going to be wrapping up pretty soon. It's just a void of something not being on you know; camaraderie with your fellow people.”
The Bruins defeated the Rangers 3 – 1. The Bruins will face off against the Winnipeg Jets at home Monday at 1pm.
