SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced today that their game originally scheduled for Tuesday, February 8, 2011 against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers has been rescheduled for Wednesday, February 16, 2011 starting at 7 pm at the MassMutual Center.

The game has been rescheduled to allow crews time to remove snow and ice from the MassMutual Center roof and surrounding area. The rescheduled
date also gives MassMutual Center crews more time to completely execute
the change over from the Disney on Ice Show that occupied the venue this
week back to the original ice skating surface.

“We wanted to work with the MassMutual Center and make sure crews have
enough time for the snow removal process,” said Falcons president and
general manager Bruce Landon. “Both our coaches and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers coaches agreed to the change and this certainly allows more time to make sure our normal hockey ice skating surface is in place and ready.”

The MassMutual Convention Center currently has a full schedule of events
for the upcoming week and the MassMutual Center Box remains open for
upcoming events. The Falcons front office, located inside of the
MassMutual Center on Falcons Way, also remains on schedule with normal
business hours being 9 am – 5 pm Monday – Friday.
