Celtics crush 76ers in preseason opener

MANCHESTER, New Hamp. (WWLP) - The Celtics opened their preseason slate in the Granite state, crushing the Philadelphia 76ers, 93-65.

Boston's starters played 15-20 minutes, led by Ray Allen's 14 points.  Shaquille O'Neal scored 8 points in his Celtics debut.   Joining Allen and O'Neal in the starting lineup were Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo and Kevin Garnett. 

Boston led by 10 points after the 1st quarter and had a 49-22 lead at halftime.

UMass alum Stephane Lasme came off the Celtics bench to score 12 points and grab 4 rebounds in just 7 minutes of action.
