New England Patriots fans will have access to free Wi-Fi at the season opener Sunday, Sept. 16.

Gillette Stadium has partnered with Enterasys Networks to provide indoor and outdoor internet service.

The entire installation took just over one month.

The new network complemented with Gillette Stadium and Patriots apps for iPhone, iPad and Android will provide fans with an unparalleled in-stadium experience.

Users will be able to get closer to the action on the field through exclusive access to the NFL Red Zone and real-time stats.

The network will become increasingly important as the NFL rolls out future applications to provide fans at live events with exclusive content through smart phone and tablet apps.
