Jeff Cunningham scored his MLS-leading 16th goal of the season in the 71st minute to help FC Dallas beat the New England Revolution 1-0 on Wednesday night at the Cotton Bowl.

FC Dallas (9-12-6) won consecutive games for only the second time this season to improve to 12th in the MLS with 33 points. New England (10-9-7) has 37 points, good for third in the Eastern Conference and eighth overall.

The top two teams in each conference qualify for the playoffs and the next four teams with the highest overall point totals receive wild-card berths.
