NEWARK, Del. (AP) - Massachusetts scored three touchdowns in the first quarter and held on to defeat Delaware 21-10 on Saturday.

Kellen Pagel, who threw for 245 yards, put UMass ahead 14-0 with a 6-yard touchdown pass to Emil Igwenagu. Julian Talley closed out the scoring for the Minutemen (4-2, 2-1 Colonial Athletic Association) on a 3-yard run with 1:21 remaining in the first quarter.

The win snapped a two-game losing streak to Delaware, which saw its seven-game home winning streak end. It was the fewest points allowed in 14 games for UMass, dating back to last season.

Darrell Thellen had two interceptions for the second straight game for UMass, and Tyler Holmes had 10 tackles for his fourth straight game in double digits.

Tim Donnelley had 155 yards passing and a touchdown for the Blue Hens (4-3, 2-2), who scored all their points in the second quarter
