AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) - There's been a buzz around the UMass football team this week. From the supermarkets to the football field, the Minutemen certainly piqued some interest with their performance against Michigan.
Michigan beat UMass 42-37 on Saturday, dropping the Minutemen's record to 2-1. It also extended the Minutemen's road losing streak. Umass didn't win a game away from McGuirk Stadium last season, now it travels to Stony Brook for an important road test.
"We got close at Michigan, but to be a good team we have to win on the road", says UMass quarterback Kyle Havens. He continues, "To be successful in the playoffs you have to be able to win on the road, so this is going to be a big test for our team, we'll see what we can get done:"
UMass head coach Kevin Morris says, "This isn't another game, this is a road game, it's a must-win road game for us so we after get after it this weekend."
UMass visits Stony Brook, Saturday at 6pm.
