SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Travis Best returned to Springfield to launch the Travis Best foundation during Enshrinement week, but we potentially could see much more of Best back home in the near future.

Best, who has been playing overseas the past few years, expects to play at least one more season.  He anticipates that it will be back overseas, but an offer to play in his own backyard could change his mind.

The Springfield Armor, the newest D-League team has 2 roster spots to give out to players of its choosing.  Although the D-League is usually for up and coming NBA players, Best, a veteran of 11 NBA seasons, could fill much more than a roster spot in Springfield.

Best joked with 22News that he told Dee Brown (coach and head of basketball operations for the Armor) if he wants to fill the seats to give him a chance.

Best has been looking for just one more chance in the NBA.  A spot in the D-League would make him not only more visible to NBA teams than playing overseas, but also within reach if ever called upon.

I'm all for giving Best a chance to play with the best one more time, with a little home cooking to get him started.
