FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WWLP) - Thousands of New Englanders sent-in pictures of themselves imitating his trademark spike, or posing with his likeness on a cardboard cutout, but only 40 lucky fans actually got to enjoy a lunch Tuesday with the fun-loving star Patriots tight end known lovingly as “ the Gronk.”

Tanya Grater and Ashley Rucki of Westfield were among the winners of Dunkin’ Donuts’ DD Gronkoff sweepstakes, and got go to Gillette Stadium for the luncheon. The main attraction, of course was meeting Rob Gronkowski himself, but attendees also got to pose for pictures with Pat the Patriot (the Patriots’ mascot), Joe the Iced Coffee Cup, and enjoy a cake made in Gronk’s likeness.

"We're excited to be here," Grater said. "We are die-hard Pats fans, so this is real exciting for us to meet Gronk."

More than 5,000 people across the region entered the sweepstakes, which ran from September through October. To enter, fans were asked to send pictures or videos of themselves doing an impression of Gronk’s end zone celebration, or posing with one of hundreds of life-size cutouts of the NFL star at Dunkin’ Donuts locations. They then had to post the pictures or video on Dunkin’ Donuts’ Facebook page.
