SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - 2nd round draft picks are usually the marquee names on a D-League team's roster. Unfortunately for the Springfield Armor, none of its 3 affiliates; Philadelphia, New Jersey or New York had a 2nd round pick. So unless they sign some rookie free agents, they may not send any players to Springfield.
Former UMass standout Gary Forbes is playing on the New Jersey, Philadelphia summer league team. If Forbes steps up his game and gets signed, he could be a front-runner to play in Springfield.
Other players on that roster include former Temple star Dionte Christmas and UConn's Jeff Adrien.
Once again, they would have to be signed or they'll just end up
back in the D-league draft for any team to take. The D-League draft
is expected to take place in November. Springfield will
select 10 players in that draft.
