INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WWLP) - It's Super Bowl Sunday. It's felt like forever since the Patriots last played and tonight they'll be back on the field against the Giants, winner take all.
Dozens of Western Mass fans made the trip to Indianapolis. 22News caught up with some of them who felt like they had to be here because they are so confident the Patriots will make it worth their trip.
"They will, they will, definite, they've got it behind them, they got the defense they got the offense, so we'll see what happens", says Holyoke's Robert Orsucci.
"When we were at the Baltimore game I called my dad before the game started and I let him know, if we made the trip, if we won we were doing it", says Chicopee's Sean Moylan.
Speaking of Western Massachusetts, we can take pride in having 2 players with local roots playing in the Super Bowl. Both of them Patriots, Springfield's Ron Brace and Amherst's James Ihedigbo. Ihedigbo is starting against the Giants. Brace is inactive.
It's great to see two local talents on this big stage and if we're talking local, UMass alum Victor Cruz has been fantastic this season for the Giants, Pats fans just don't want to see him doing his salsa in the end zone.
