INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WWLP) - New Years Eve is known for its parties. In Indianapolis they are partying on the eve of the Super Bowl.
A cold, rainy day couldn't keep thousands of fans away from downtown Indianapolis, a day before the Patriots and Giants meet in Super Bowl 46.
"This is where it's happening. Everything is going on down here, it's awesome, a once in a lifetime experience.", says Ali Calhoun from West Lafayette, Indiana.
The NFL experience kept some fans dry. Fans were lining up to get a picture in their favorite teams uniforms. That's where 22News found a fan of UMass alum and Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz.
"I like his dance, his salsa dance when he does a touchdown", says Louisville's Kim Watts.
Giants and Patriots fans are feeling pretty confident their team will take care of business on Sunday.
"I feel good, 31-27", says Scott Jones from Saugus.
"It's a nice little rivalry, but we beat them all the time so I don't know how much of a rivalry it really is", says Giants fan Richard Feld.
One of these fan bases will be going home happy, the other will be devastated. Going to the Super Bowl costs of a lot of money, but is it worth it if the game doesn't end in your favor.
"It's a once in a lifetime opportunity to come, see your team in the Super Bowl, it's all worth", says Jones.
The NFL announced its Hall of Fame class of 2012. Former Patriots running back Curtis Martin was elected. He will be joined by four lineman; Chris Doleman, Cortez Kennedy, Willie Roaf and Dermontti Dawson.
Bill Parcells was among the finalists that did not make the final cut.
The countdown to kickoff is almost complete, the Patriots and Giants will finally take the field, Sunday around 6:30pm. You can watch the game on WWLP.
