(WWLP) - Springfield Police arrested one man but are trying to find two other people they say broke into a grocery store.

Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno is hoping to maintain the city's police force at full staff and keep crime down.

Charles Wilhite of Springfield has been acquitted of murder at his second trial after spending three years in jail.

An attorney in New York is challenging the state's strict new gun law saying it's unconstitutional.  But he isn't saying it goes against the right to bear arms.  Instead he says a ban on assault weapons means the government is taking away people's personal property without compensation.
