(WWLP) - A fast moving fire forced residents out of their apartments in Amherst this morning.
Amherst Town Manager John Musante told 22News firefighters got the call just before five this morning for a fire at the Rolling Green Apartments off Route 9 in Amherst.
Flames could be seen coming from the roof when firefighters arrived.
There are over 200 units in the complex.
Musante told 22News four units have been damaged and a total of 8 units have been affected.
A majority of the residents are college students from UMass Amherst.
Classes for the Spring semester start tomorrow and residents told 22News many students returned to their apartments Sunday night.
Musante said everyone made it out safely and there are no reports of any injuries.
Firefighters from Amherst, Northampton, Hadley, Leverett and Belchertown helped put out the fire in extremely cold conditions.
