(WWLP) - Nurses attending their annual convention this week in Springfield plan to picket outside Baystate Medical Center today.   The demonstration will come hours before management and members of the Massachusetts Nurses Association meet for their last scheduled negotiating session.   Nurses at Greenfield's Baystate Franklin Medical Center are planning a one-day strike for Friday...if no settlement is reached.   The union claims Baystate Health System is demanding "unreasonable concessions" from nurses...in regards to overtime and use of sick time.


The state is preparing for what could be hundreds of legal challenges related to that drug testing lab scandal.

Tonight is the first debate between President Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney in Denver.  The 90-minute debate offers the chance to reach more than 60 million people on television...the first of three debates scheduled in the next four weeks.
