(WWLP) - A man was rescued from his burning home in Springfield by a stranger. Aide to the Fire Commissioner Dennis Leger told 22News the fire started in the basemen and a man inside got trapped just after 10 last night at 9 Ludlow Avenue in the Indian Orchard section of Springfield. A person in a bar next door saw the fire and ran to help. The person broke a window and pulled the man out. The trapped man inhaled some smoke and suffered some burns. Two other people also made it out safely.
A medical examiner will work to determine how a man who was stabbed last week in Springfield... died several days after he returned home from the hospital.
