(WWLP) - Firefighters put out a house fire in West Springfield this morning

Lawmakers on Beacon Hill are trying to figure out what to do next after new reports led to the resignation of the state's welfare chief.

The Springfield Police Department will hold a gun buy-back day next month.

Authorities say they decided to storm an Alabama bunker after determining that a 5-year-old boy being held hostage inside was in imminent danger.

A hospital is a hard place to have fun if you're a child.  One 4-year-old cancer patient found that out first-hand.  Now her family has formed a non-profit to make the playroom a priority at every hospital.  It's called "Hope in Joy" and we'll take a closer look on 22News at Noon.
