Massachusetts (WWLP) - About 40,000 people in the eastern part of the state are without electricity due to the developing snow storm.
Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency officials said that around 8 o'clock Friday night, NStar reported about 26,000 customers out, and National Grid about 14,000.
Most of the outages are in southeastern part of the state and in the Cape Cod area.
State officials have said about 2,000 utility crews are prepared to respond to storm outages, but won't be able to do so until conditions are safe for them.
