SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Springfield emergency response leaders met Sunday night at the city's public safety complex on Carew Street, to further discuss their plan of action in dealing with Hurricane Sandy.

Deputy Springfield Fire Chief Glenn Guyer spoke with 22News, he encourages everyone to review their supply kits at home; make sure you have batteries and food that's easy to prepare in case you lose power.

Sandy will likely bring damaging winds to Western Massachusetts, which could result in power outages throughout the region.

Robert Hassett told 22News, “We know there's going to be power outages, but it's so dangerous for those crews to go up in buckets in high wind conditions. So Some of those power outage repairs will be delayed until it's safe."
