SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from through 1:00 P.M. Saturday for the Pioneer Valley, and through 12:00 P.M. for Berkshire County.
* Hazard types...snow to continue through Saturday morning. Still-strong winds could cause blowing snow, reducing visibility.
* Accumulations... An additional 1-3" is possible for most of western Massachusetts, with an additional 2-4" possible for eastern Hampden and Hampshire counties.
* Timing... The heaviest snow comes to an end Saturday morning.
* Impacts...Snow covered roads and poor visibility from drifting snow.
* Winds.. Sustained wind speeds at 20-30 miles per hour, with gusts of up to 50 mph at times. Visibility could be ¼ of a mile or less.
* Visibilities...one quarter mile or less possible at times.
A Winter Storm Warning is issued when an average of 6 inches or more of snow is expected in a 12-hour period, or for 8 or more inches in a 24-hour period.
