SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - What a difference a year makes. Last spring at this time it felt like summer, but this spring it continues to feel like winter.
Last year at this time we were experiencing record warm temperatures with highs in the 70s and 80s. The snow was long gone, flowers were in bloom and people were wearing shorts.
Mr. Cone on Granby Road was a popular place to be a year ago; this year that's not the case. It hasn't opened yet this year and there's snow on the picnic tables.
Last winter golfers were pretty much able to get on the course all year round, it's a different story this year at East Mountain Country Club in Westfield.
Ted Perez Jr., the Co-owner of the East Mountain Country Club, told 22News, “Typically when you get some snow this time of year it's not unusual but it gets warm right after. This time it's followed by cold, so we shut down again. Hopefully Sunday, Monday or Tuesday as soon as it gets warm we'll reopen.”
Temperatures were only in the 30s Thursday, we should be in the mid and upper 40s this time of year.
