SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - We've struggled to have a normal winter over the past few years.
Last year had very little snow, the previous winter had well above average snowfall.
This winter has been somewhere in the middle.
"It's been a little less than what we normally have so it's been alright, I haven't had any problems," said Francisco Zayas of Springfield.
In a normal cold season we receive about fifty inches of snow in the lower Pioneer Valley. So far just about 16 inches, there's still plenty of time to go.
Our weather pattern this winter has meant that snow storms didn't hit us back to back, providing some time in between to recover.
"I like it. It can fall and then melt and then that's fine by me," said Brianna Godbout of Chicopee.
This way we're not stocking up on roof rakes and worrying about roof collapses like we were 2 years ago.
But instead this winter's weather pattern has made dealing with the snow...easier to do.
"It's much more convenient this year, I feel like we have more time to clean up my driveway and off my car in the morning," said Judith Schwarzkopf of West Springfield.
If you wait until Tuesday morning to clean off your car you might have trouble.
Ice and sleet on top of snow could mean tough work before you've even left for work.
