NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) - The snow came down steadily at times on Thursday, but had a hard time sticking to the pavement with temperatures at or above freezing.

During the morning commute, the snow made for slow going in many parts of western Massachusetts. There was a lull in the action in the late morning hours, but the snow picked-up again by the afternoon, along with some fairly strong winds.

The worst weather from this storm has stayed to our east, with very strong winds and high water battering communities like Sandwich on Cape Cod. In the Worcester area and east, the snow has been accumulating.

Some people that 22News talked to are hoping this might be our last winter storm of the season.

“I'm ready for spring, yeah, definitely ready. I think we've had our share. I'm ready to move on. I've got two little kids, they're ready to move on, too,” Miguel Menendez of Williamsburg said.

The snow is expected to pick up in intensity overnight. For the latest, check out the 22News Storm Team Forecast.
