PALMER, Mass. (WWLP) - Predictions that Eastern Hampden County could get some of Western Massachusetts's heaviest snowfall, doesn't faze residents in the least.

Patty Mariucci of Monson told 22News as she stocked up on groceries at the Big Y Supermarket in Palmer.

"After all the natural disasters we've had in Monson, we're now all prepared,” she said.

Ronald Cardinal of Palmer recalls losing hundreds of dollars worth of frozen food during the October 2011 snowstorm. Just in case he loses power again, he's bought a cooler along with candles.

Vanessa Galica of Palmer told 22News that she recalls “the massive accumulation from snow falling every third day a few years ago".

If we get just one severe storm this season, Galicia told 22News that she is okay with that.

22News Storm Team Meteorologist Ashley Baylor says that while the entire Pioneer Valley is expected to receive between 12 and 18” of snow, eastern Hampden County may receive a little bit more than that.
