PLUM ISLAND, Mass. (WWLP-NECN) - In northeastern Massachusetts, a house collapsed, dangling toward the ocean shortly before 9:00 Friday morning.

The house is located on Plum Island, just north of Ipswich. A neighbor described the home as “dangling over the ocean at a 45 degree angle.”

No one was inside the house at the time. It is apparently is a seasonal property, and the owner lives in Florida.

Thursday and Friday’s winter storm caused the sand dunes between the homes to wash out into the street.

The storm has also caused coastal flooding and scattered power outages across eastern Massachusetts.
