High wind warning for Berkshire County, wind advisory for all WMass

(WWLP) - Tuesday will be wet and windy across western Massachusetts, with the potential for damaging wind gusts, particularly in Berkshire County.

The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for Berkshire County until 6:00 Wednesday morning.

A High Wind Warning means that there could be wind gusts of up to 60 miles per hour. There is the potential for sustained winds at at least 40 miles per hour. With these expected high winds, there is the potential for tree and tree limb damage, which could cause power outages. The highest threat for high winds is this afternoon into this evening.

In Hampden, Hampshire, and Franklin Counties, there is a Wind Advisory , which means wind gusts could reach up to 50 miles per hour, and sustained winds could be 20 to 30 miles per hour. The strongest winds are expected from 4:00 P.M. to midnight. Tree damage and scattered power outages are possible.
