SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Our weekend weather took a wild turn from Saturday into Sunday. As the saying goes..."what a difference a day makes!"
"I drove up here in shorts and a t shirt and as you can see I'm now dressed in pants and a jacket. So it's changed," said Sally Rubin visiting western Massachusetts from New Jersey.
Very unseasonably cold air moved in late Saturday night and made for a very different feel to the day on Sunday.
"These cool temperatures might have been a little easier to take if it wasn't so drastic. On Saturday, highs were in the upper 70s and temperatures on Sunday were more than 20 degrees cooler than that.
We weren't the only ones feeling the chill. Temperatures across the northeast dropped 10-20 degrees from Saturday into Sunday.
Some people 22News spoke with worry that this early chill could bring bad weather, like the snow storm we had last October.
"We might have a bad winter this winter. Because of the ways it's cold today…matter of fact we did put the heat on last night, because it was chilly and we're going to be using a lot of fuel this year I think," said Tom Liquori of Agawam.
While fuel is a concern, some people put that concern out of their head when they can.
"In my own head personally it's just something I have to pay. It's part of living here and we just suck it up and do it," said Tom Rice of Springfield.
