(NBCNC) - The Midwest is waking-up to a blast of winter weather.

Snow has started to fall across the region and plows are already working to keep roads clear, but if the forecast holds they may not be able to keep up the pace.

Some areas expect blizzard conditions, and accumulations of two feet or more before it's over.

The snow is not expected to end until sometime tonight.
