WALTHAM, Mass. (WWLP) - Utility companies are preparing for the potential of power outages ahead of Friday’s snowstorm.
National Grid, the state’s largest utility company, says that is contacting customers that depend on electricity for critical services like life support. They are also preparing their storm command system, so they can better respond to any service interruptions. The utility company says that they will bring-in additional crews if necessary.
The greatest risk for power outages may be caused by the wind. 22News Storm Team Meteorologist Ashley Baylor says there is the potential of wind gusts between 40-50 miles per hour during this storm.
