SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Last week at this time, we were preparing for the big Nor'easter that dropped more than 20 inches of snow on most of western Massachusetts. Now, we are watching as that heavy snow is quickly melting away.

It was another mild day on Thursday, with plenty of sunshine and blue skies. Temperatures once again climbed up into the 40’s, accelerating the melting process.

Puddles are forming and water can be seen coming out of the down spouts and dripping from roofs as the sun and the warmth help to clear the evidence of this major recent storm.

To put things into perspective, Thursday’s highs were more than five degrees above our average this time of year, which is about 35 degrees.

To see if this mild stretch of weather will continue into the weekend, check out the 22News Storm Team Forecast.
