WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - After a few weeks break from winter white, Western Massachusetts had to deal with a day of steady light snow.
While it wasn't much, the large flakes were a bit tricky to deal with for some.
"It was just messy, the snow was heavy and just messy you know? I didn't have to do [clean] the car very much," said Lisa Breton from Chicopee.
Even though the snow didn't accumulate on the ground, the fact that snow was falling caused people to take their time.
"I think it slows the traffic and people start driving a little more carefully and it takes longer to get places," said Liz Mari of Longmeadow.
This was our first widespread snow in weeks, we are missing needed snowfall after a dry year overall.
In a normal November, we have around two inches of snowfall. So far this November we've only had about a quarter of that so we've got some catching up to do before December.
There wasn't much of an accumulation in the lower Pioneer Valley Monday, mostly because temperatures stayed above freezing for most of the day.
Areas that have seen snow accumulate lately are loving it.
"I think the skiers are going to enjoy it up north, because they're getting more than we are. I enjoy the snow, I enjoy the seasons. I think the seasons are the secret to the good part of everything in New England," said Pete Kernicki of Springfield.
November is typically fairly slow for snowfall, but December is a different story. we average close to a foot of new snow.
