Snowstorm pushes East

(NBCNC) - Snowstorm part two!

Some parts of the Midwest got over a foot Tuesday. This morning, the East Coast is getting hit.

They're tightening up the schedule here today. Warnings are out in all or parts of 16 states as the Mid-Atlantic braces for a big winter storm.

The East Coast is now feeling the snowstorm that dumped half a foot or more on the Midwest.

Minneapolis got over 7 inches; almost nine in parts of Iowa, and 15 inches in North Dakota.

A semi flipped off a bridge into the river in Wisconsin, and there were spinouts all over Chicago. "This is my 10th call already and I got 10 waiting," said a tow truck operator.

Schools closed in many areas but no such luck at Loras College in Iowa. "I wish we didn't have to go to school in this, we could just play in it, enjoy it like everyone else, but oh well," said a college student.

Chicago's O'Hare Airport saw most of the region's 1,300 flight cancellations, but they're back on time this morning.

Snow or not - this truck driver had to get to work at 2am, so he spent all night shoveling. "I don't want it to get too thick so like every other hour I come out and shovel."

This morning, the storm is moving east. New jersey residents are worried, as they continue to dig out from Superstorm Sandy. "We just don't want their property damaged anymore," said an official.

In Washington, the White House cancelled a visit for the Crimson Tide National Champions, and on Capitol Hill, the house earlied up its session, including a budget vote, bracing for what could be Washington D.C.'s worst snowfall in two years.
