The latest track on Sandy

(WWLP) - Hurricane Sandy has moved through Jamaica, Cuba, and the Bahamas, and is now spinning off the coast of Florida, ready to take aim at the U.S. East Coast.

The computer models have become much more consistent in showing Sandy making landfall along the coast, rather than continuing out to sea, which means we are very likely to feel her effects here in western Massachusetts.

The latest model runs show that Sandy could make landfall anywhere between southern New England and Virginia.

Most of the models are now showing Sandy making landfall along the Delaware/Maryland coast, and then turning inland toward Pennsylvania. This is the best scenario for western Massachusetts.

Some other models are suggesting a more northward track toward New England, which would be the worst possibility for us; bringing the strongest rains and tropical storm-force wind gusts.

Regardless of where Sandy goes, there will be the heaviest rain on Tuesday and Wednesday, and possibly into Thursday.
