(WWLP) - We continue to track Hurricane Sandy and we’re getting a better idea what to expect when Sandy pulls into the Northeast.
Currently, Sandy is still a hurricane with sustained winds at 75 MPH and gusts around 90 MPH.
The latest track shows Sandy moving towards the northeast then making an abrupt hook towards the left toward the Northeast.
Landfall looks to take place on New Jersey on Monday.
Right now it looks like here in western Massachusetts we should expect winds around 25 to 35 MPH with gusts around 60 MPH from Monday morning through late Monday night and a High Wind Watch is in effect.
Also we can expect 1 to 3 inches of rain with some locally higher amounts if 3 to 5 inches. The heaviest rain is expected to fall Monday morning through Tuesday afternoon and there is a Flood Watch is in effect.
