AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) - This can be a tough time of the year for people who like to exercise outdoors. In addition to the weather being cold, recent snowfall has closed most bike paths in the area for the winter season.
22News found people in Agawam running in the street because the bike path is covered in snow.
Richard Golba, the Agawam Department of Public Works Superintendent, told 22News that the town doesn't have the resources to plow it, so anyone who wants to use the path needs take caution.
“It would be recreation at your own risk. We do have signs posted that the bike path is closed, so it's run at your own risk,” Golba said.
He told 22News that the path will likely reopen after the snow melts for the season.
