WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The snow has been reducing visibility, and with the ban on people driving there weren't many cars on the road at all.

In downtown Westfield most of the vehicles that were on the roads Friday night  were plows.

A few people did venture out on foot and some of them were comparing this storm to the one that hit 35 years ago this week.

“I remember the Blizzard of '78 right now the winds don't seem that bad but I know it's going to get a lot worse and if it's anything like the Blizzard of '78 I think it's going to get pretty bad hopefully it doesn't,” said Dave Luna of Westfield.
