ATLANTA, Geor. (WXIA) - A storm packing high winds, heavy rain and devastating hail left a path of destruction throughout Atlanta, Georgia Monday night.
In some parts of town, trees were uprooted, roofs damaged and cars were pelted with hailstones during the brief storm.
Early Tuesday, citizens assessed the damage and deemed it time for cleanup and repair.
Damaged beyond repair was the word for some vehicles, where the cost of repair would exceed the value of the vehicle.
More than 300 cars were damaged at Nissan South in Morrow.
Body Shops throughout the Metro were full of car owners looking for estimates on repairs. Some cars had damage that repair crews had never seen before.
"One was hit by hail that was baseball size, probably the biggest I've seen, probably the biggest we've ever seen," said Monte Joiner, of Gerber Auto Body and Dent Science.
