CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - A winter storm warning will remain in effect until 3:00 Thursday afternoon, as the remnants of a large storm continue to move through western Massachusetts.

By the morning hours Thursday, the snow changed over to a wintry mix and plain rain in the lower Pioneer Valley, but remained as snow in much of Franklin and Berkshire counties, as well as in the Hampden and Hampshire County Hilltowns. The combination of rain, snow, and sleet is making for a slow and slippery commute across western Massachusetts.

Check out 22News' list of snowfall totals across western Mass.

22News Storm Team Meteorologist Ashley Baylor says that colder air coming in later Thursday could mean a return to snow for a period of time before the system moves out.
