CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - A *WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY* is in effect through Sunday night for all of western Massachusetts.
We continue to track a very tricky storm system which has so far provided a wintry mix of rain, freezing rain and snow. Warmer than freezing air above the surface has limited snowfall for many of us, but as colder air works in above us we will see a changeover to some wet snow showers as we go through the day.
With high temperatures today pushing into the middle and upper 30s, any accumulation during the day will mainly be over colder grassy surfaces. As temperatures cool tonight we could see some limited accumulation on the roads. Over the Berkshires and eastern Hampden/Hampshire county and most of Franklin County, conditions could be cold enough to bring some accumulation to streets during the day today.
A Winter Weather Advisory is issued when weather conditions are expected to make travel difficult, but not impossible. Accumulating snow will remain on the lighter side, but could still provide travel inconveniences.
